A community scientist is anyone in the community who is interested in contributing data to real scientific research projects. Community science fosters scientific literacy by engaging students in meaningful science research that addresses real-world issues and leads to scientific advancement. Incorporating community science in your classrooms can be a tool to help address barriers that girls and gender diverse students face in STEM spaces. Teachers will get an intro to community science and some ideas for how to integrate community science into their curricula.
